Ken with Hogwood String Band in Germany - 1975

This was the first configuration of the Hogwood String Band, with (from the right) Ken on Banjo (behind it in this case) and fiddle; Agi Ban on Fiddle; Jim Wimmer on Mandolin, Washboard, Autoharp, Jug and Spoons (he later he became a fantastic fiddler); Carol Mason on Vocals; Dick Mason on Guitar. We all sang. We played in Germany for a year and a half and, after Dick and Carol went back to the states, we had Berndt Goyman on Guitar, then Michael Carrol on Guitar, and finally, the great guitarist,Bo Lipari, joined the band in early 1976. Bo and Jim continued as a duo in 1977 in Germany and Ken rejoined them for a few months in 1978 while he and Jeanie were living in Louisiana. Ken and Jeanie played in Germany and France in the summer with Mike Doucet and Françoise Schobert and then Ken stayed and played with Bo and Jim and also made an LP with them, before returning to La. and Jeanie.
